New Albums April - May
These last four weeks some great albums were released. Here are seven albums which were released these last four week.
J. Cole - KOD
KOD is his fifth album. It is an acronym for Kids On Drugs, King Overdosed and Kill Our Demons. J. Cole handled the production of the album primarily by himself, along with others such as T-Minus, Mark Pelli, BLVK and Ron Gilmore.
The album has songs with a variety of topics including drug abuse, addiction, depression, and African-American culture. In total there are 12 tracks on the album with only kiLL edward as a featured artist.
The album includes singles KOD, ATM and Kevin's Heart. To promote the album, J. Cole will go on the KOD tour . Rapper Young Thug will be the supporting act.
Post Malone - Beerbongs & Bentleys
This is his second album. It features guest appearances from Swae Lee, 21 Savage, Ty Dolla Sign, Nicki Minaj, G-Eazy and YG. The album includes his two big hits Rockstar featuring 21 Savage and Psycho featuring Ty Dolla Sign. In total there are 18 tracks on the album.
His debut album Stoney which was released in 2016 was a big hit. With Beerbongs & Bentleys he is serving us some great hits again. His single Rockstar was a number one hit.
Janelle Monae - Dirty Computer
This is her third album. It includes her three hit singles Make Me Feel, Django Jane and Pynk and the promotional single I Like That. Its release was accompanied by a narrative film project of the same name which Tessa Thompson plays in. You can watch this film here below.
In total the album has 14 tracks. There are guest appearances by Brian Wilson, Zoë Kravitz, Grimes and Pharrell Williams. To promote the album Janelle Monae is going on the Dirty Computer tour.
Rae Sremmurd - SR3MM (Swae Lee - Swaecation & Slim Jxmmi - Jxmtro
This is their third album. It is a triple albbum, consisting of SR3MM by the duo and solo albums by both members: Swaecation by Swae Lee and Jxmtro by Slim Jxmmi. In total there are 27 tracks with nine per part.
The album was supported by eight singles with some singles from every part. You have Perplexing Pegasus, T'd Up, Powerglide featuring Juicy J and Close featuring Travis Scott for SR3MM. For Swaecation you have Hurt To Look and Guatemala featuring Slim Jxmmi. And finally you have Brxnks Truck and Chanel featuring Swae Lee and Pharrell Williams for Jxmtro.
There are a lot of guest appearances on the album from artists like mentioned above, but also from artists like The Weeknd, Future, Young Thug and Zoë Kravitz.
Desiigner - L.O.D.
The rapper released this surprise EP earlier this month. It has 7 tracks with no features by other artists. Desiigner already released a mixtape and this EP. For his debut album we still have to wait. His debut album should come later this year. He had a big hit with his song Panda and then he released a few good songs like Timmy Turner and Outlet.
The EP is named L.O.D. which stands for Life Of Desiigner. It is in the style of Desiigner we all know and like. There is a mix of trap bangers and even a melodic love song.
Playboi Carti - Die Lit
After releasing some mixtapes, the rapper finally released his debut album. It has 19 tracks including the single Love Hurts featuring Travis Scott.
The album features guest appearances from Skepta, Travis Scott, Lil Uzi Vert, Nicki Minaj, Bryson Tiller, Chief Keef, Gunna, Red Coldhearted, Young Nudy, Young Thug and Pi'erre Bourne. Pi'erre Bourne also produced the album along with Playboi Carti himself, Art Dealer, Don Cannon, IndigoChildRick, Maaly Raw and Treshaun Beatz.
Charlie Puth - Voicenotes
This is his second album after his debut album Nine Track Mind which was released in January 2016. Voicenotes is entirely produced by Charlie Puth himself. He delayed the album from an early 2018 release date to perfect it, including reshooting the album cover.
The album has 13 tracks including the singles Attention, How Long, Done For Me featuring Kehlani, Change featuring James Taylor and If You Leave Me Now featuring Boyz II Men. Those three artists (Kehlani, James Taylor and Boyz II Men) are the only three guest appearances featured on the album. Charlie Puth will go on the Voicenotes Tour this summer in support of the album.
