Kesha gets real in her new song "Hymn"

Kesha released another new song which will be on her upcoming album 'Rainbow'. This time it is a "Hymn" for the hymnless, the outsiders. The song has a powerful message that Kesha shared with her fans in an essay and a personal letter she wrote. In the essay, which she wrote for Lenny Letter, she explaines:

'For me, God is not a bearded man sitting in the clouds or a judgmental, homophobic tyrant waiting to send everyone to eternal damnation. God is nature and space and energy and the universe. My own interpretation of spirituality isn't important, because we all have our own.'

In the personal letter to her fans she wrote:

'This song is dedicated to all the idealistic people around the world who refuse to turn their backs on progress, love and equality whenever they are challenged. It's dedicated to the people who went out into the streets all over the world to protest against racism, hate and division of any kind. It's also dedicated to anyone who feels like they are not understood by the world or respected for exactly who they are. It's a hopeful song about all of these people - which I consider myself one of - and the power that we all have when we all come together.'

"Hymn" is the fourth song she released that will be on her album 'Rainbow' which releases next week, on August 11. She announced that she will go on tour to promote the album. The Rainbow Tour will be her first solo tour in four years, since the Warrior Tour in 2013. During the tour she will perform in different cities in the United States. The tour starts September 26 in Birmingham and will continue throughout October and will end at Los Angeles on November 1. Prior to the official start of the Rainbow Tour, Kesha will also  perform three times at the West Coast: on September 15 she performs at the KAABOO festival in Del Mar, California, teh day after, on September 16, she is at the M Resort Casino & Spa in Las Vegas and on September 23 she performs at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas.
