Kesha is back with new song "Praying"

It has been four years that Kesha released new music. After some difficult times, she is back with new music. She released her first new song "Praying", which will be the lead single from her new album 'Rainbow' which will be released on August 11. Kesha wrote the song with help from Ben Abraham and Ryan Lewis. She wrote it sometime between January 2014, when she checked herself into a rehab clinic, and October 2016, when she announced she had finished recording 22 songs and had handed them to her record label.

"Praying" is a pop piano ballad that features elements of gospel music. It is a slow and inspiring song that is, according to Kesha, "about hoping everyone, even someone who hurt you, can heal." Kesha is joined on the track by violins and "distant" backing vocals. The song is the lead single of her upcoming album 'Rainbow', which will be released on August 11. The album will have 15 tracks in total and will have features by Eagles of Death Metal, The Dap-King Horns and Dolly Parton.

She also released the music video of the song. The video, directed by Jonas Akerlund, moves between grim black-and-white and hopeful, vivid colours. At the start of the video, Kesha delivers a monologue. She plays the piano while wearing angel wings and at the end of the music video, she seems to walk on water. There is a lot of religious symbolism in the video. Watch it for yourself here below.
