Hayley Kiyoko & Kehlani run away in "What I Need "video

Hayley Kiyoko released the music video for her song "What I Need", which is on her latest album 'Expectations'. The video features Kehlani who is also on the song. In the video Kehlani runs away from home together with Hayley Kiyoko. Hayley directed the music video, just like her other videos she directed herself.

The music video is structured like a short film. It opens with Kehlani's character fighting with her aunt as she packs her stuff to leave the house for good. The aunt is concerned about the nature of her relationship with her childhood best friend, played by Hayley Kiyoko. When Kehlani exits the house, the track starts to play and the two girls drive away. Throughout the video their platonic relationship becomes increasingly more romantic.

In the video, you see both artists having fun by dancing and flirting with one another until a near-crash in their car. They continue their journey by foot and they try to get a car to stop. Kehlani decides to jump into the back of a pick-up truck and drags the more nervous Hayley with her. When the driver finally notices them, as the two are about to finally kiss, he begins to flirt with Kehlani and touches her hair. She decides to stay in the car, leaving a confused and worried Hayley Kiyoko.

Now Hayley is walking all alone, but then she sees Kehlani running towards her and they kiss.

Hayley Kiyoko is currently on the Expectations Tour until June 16. Then she will join Panic! At the Disco on the band's latest headlining trek. Watch the music video for "What I Need" here below.
