Kesha released the music video for the song "I Need A Woman To Love" which is a reimagining of Janis Joplin's classic rock song "I Need A Man To Love". This is as a part of the Universal Love project helmed by MGM Resorts which reimagines wedding and other classic love songs to make them more LGBTQ-inclusive.
In the video you see Kesha traveling to Las Vegas for the wedding of real-life couple Dani and Lindsay. Dani and Lindsay were chosen for the music video after sharing a video about how excited they were to get married in Vegas. The ceremony took place at the Bellagio in Vegas on March 26, the anniversary of the first-ever marriage license issued to a same-sex couple in the United States.
The video follows the couple from preparing for the wedding to their celebration following their nuptials, while Kesha is singing the song in the background. In the video Kesha says that this is her third same-sex marriage. The couple are talking about the time they saw Kesha performing during pride and how much they love Kesha.
"I Need A Woman To Love" is one of six reimagined songs on the 'Universal Love' EP. The other songs on the EP are Bob Dylan with "He's Funny That Way" (a reworking of Frank Sinatra's "She's Funny That Way"), St.. Vincent with "And Then She Kissed Me" (a redone cover of The Crystals' "Then He Kissed Me"), Kele Okereke with "My Guy" (a reimagining of The Temptations' "My Girl"), Valerie June with "Mad About The Girl" (a reworking of "Mad About The Boy" written by Noël Coward), and Benjamin Gibbard with "And I Love Him" (a redone cover of The Beatles' "And I Love Her").
